The Open Art Studio is re-opening starting January 19, 2022!

The City of Pitt Meadows is excited to offer space twice a month at the South Bonson Community Centre for a free drop-in Open Art Studio. We welcome artists from beginners to those more experienced who are passionate about visual arts and want to work, learn, share and engage with other like-minded people in the community!

Please bring your own supplies and do not share with others as a safety precaution against Covid-19.  Tables and chairs will be provided. Just a reminder that this is a self-led drop-in session, set-up/tear down and clean-up is expected by those that attend.  Space is limited to 12 artists per session, one artist per table. Other Covid-19 safety measures will be posted inside the room. We hope to see you there!

Sessions days and times have been adjusted to accommodate a phased approach to the reopening of this facility.  Sessions will take place the first Tuesday morning and third Wednesday evening of every month starting on January 19  in Activity Room #2 at the South Bonson Community Centre (schedule below).

Interested in being one of the Feature Artists?
Feature Artists will begin each session with a one-hour workshop followed by two hours of open studio time where you will remain in attendance to answer questions and give constructive feedback and suggestions. Each workshop will be on a specific topic/technique and will be for all skill levels. Topics can range from specific techniques to professional development. The City of Pitt Meadows is looking for experienced instructors and professional visual artists to be one of the Feature Artists for our Open Art Studio.

Feature Artists will be chosen based on their experience, topic of the workshop and suitability.
