About the Artist

Diane Bowman is an artist who works in a variety of mediums. She is constantly striving to improve her skills, both as a person and an artist. Diane lives and works in Port Coquitlam, B.C.
“I can’t ever remember a time when I wasn’t creating something, from doll clothes to my own clothes, and on to theatre costumes, ceramics, lapidary, many types of jewelry, fibre art, and mixed media. It is an endless adventure.
My abiding love, however, is for beads—the smaller, the better. I continue to produce works in a variety of forms, and most of them include beads in some way. When I work with beads, I am reminded that the possibilities are infinite.
Mother Nature is a constant source of inspiration, and travel deepens my awareness of her many faces. Found objects, whether natural or man-made, and unusual materials are often incorporated into my finished work, so my pieces are truly “one of a kind.” The time I spend creating gives me great joy, and I delight in making pieces that allow others to share that joy in some small way.
