About the Artist
Marie learned to paint landscapes in Regina, Saskatchewan at the Emma Lake, Kenderdine Campus. She has transplanted her joy in painting the scenes around her to the amazing Fraser Valley, where she moved seven years ago. She finds acrylic paints meet her need to work quickly when working outdoors, and also are versatile for longer painting sessions in the studio. Her goal is to capture light, shadow and colour, yet still show the hand of the artist in her brushwork and interpretation. Marie also paints other subjects, but she is always drawn back to connecting with the natural world around her by expressing her vision on canvas.
