Our first submission is from Patricia who wanted to let everyone know what a great job Langley Farm Market Pitt Meadows has done in creating a safe environment for both customers and staff: cashiers have plexiglass shields up and there are lines marked on the floor where customers are to line up, physically distanced six feet apart, for each of the three cashiers open.

This is a great opportunity to grab local produce and support our farmers! Order online now, and pickup tomorrow right here in Pitt Meadows.
The Haney Farmers Market ONLINE STORE is LIVE! Pre-order vendor products and follow instructions for pick up dates at Food Hub at Golden Meadows Honey Farm home of West Coast Bee Supply! Fresh greens to eat are available as well as plant starts/seedlings  ***Limited Quantities Available***

Did you know that although some shops have their doors closed, they are still available for product purchase? Thank you to Councillor Nicole Macdonald for sharing your recent purchase experience at Zennkai and Spa Eccotique!

“Both businesses have been located in Pitt Meadows MeadowTown mall since 2005 providing the community with spa, salon and wellness services. Currently, while they have had to close their doors and halt their personal services operations due to Covid-19 they continue to creatively and safely provide products to their clients and the community. They have two great and easy to use websites www.zennkai.com and www.Eccotique.com, and an easy to navigate curb side pick-up or delivery options.
This Pitt Meadows business provides jobs to 25 employees many of whom are local, and routinely provides donations and sponsorship to local causes. Zennkai and Spa Eccotique are owned by a B.C. resident and their very own Director of Sales and Operations is a long-time, involved Pitt Meadows resident. When I picked up my order on Saturday she greeted me with a smile and was so grateful for the community support and business during this difficult time.
Please support this great long standing Pitt Meadows business.”

Keeping active is a key part of maintaining good health during this time. Did you know that we have a gem of a shop right here in Pitt Meadows called SOLE Experience running company for all your running product needs? As their sign out front states "Your support keeps us running!"
Thank you to Sonja who sent in this great recommendation
“The staff will help you find the shoes you need for your trail run, Half Marathon or even your first 5km. Not only do they sell shoes, clothing, accessories, proteins, and gels to help you perform at your best, but Lorie and Eric Muller are a helpful ear if you need one. They will always take a moment to give a wave, answer your questions by phone, and provide service with curb side pick up.
Keep healthy, keep safe and keep running!”

Thanks to Mitchell who sent in this great Shop Local recommendation- The Other Guys Pizza. Mitchell gave us a very important tip that “typically you should order the American Classic pizza with 2 pretzels on the side. The family that run the business also operate two other businesses here in Pitt Meadows and are always a pleasure to do business with! We have primarily been dealing with "Pip" I believe her name is. Super friendly on the phone and during pickup. I would highly recommend trying their pizza and pasta bakes...simply the best in Pitt Meadows!”

Grocery shopping can be stressful right now!
Patricia let us know “that Save On Foods Pitt Meadows has made one set of automatic doors for ENTER only and the other one for EXIT only, to cut down on customers being too close if entering/exiting at same time. They have also increased their upper limit to TAP to pay from $100 to $250 (providing your bank also allows) to greatly cut down the number of customers who have to touch the key pad to enter a PIN”

Sara sent us in this heart-warming story of her experience at this location:
“I made a point of asking the cashier how his day is going and that I hoped it wasn’t too crazy for him (I always do this now). He said it wasn’t too bad today and I replied that I’m thankful he is here so we can still get groceries, etc. and I know it’s not easy. He thanked me, and then as I was grabbing my stuff to leave he handed me some flowers and asked if I would like to have them. When I asked why, he replied “just because”. I told him that he is the one that deserves them, but he insisted I take them. His parents raised such a nice kid! I just wanted to share!

Jak and Jills, from Heather:
My daughter needed a new pair of shoes. With many stores not open and not wanting to wait for shipping I messaged Jak and Jills. I told them what I was looking for. The next day they sent me photos. I selected a pair. That same day they were at my door step. I didn't even have to go to the store! Great service and the shoes were a great deal!

Meadows Cleaners (in the 7-Eleven mall), from Jane:
They have been at this location for many years and I have used them mainly for alterations, but occasionally dry cleaning too. They have always been very polite and their work is professional. They have reduced their hours recently due to the outbreak as business has slowed. There are no grad dresses, wedding dresses etc to clean. So, if you have something in your closet that you were meaning to get cleaned or altered, now would be the time to take it to Meadows Cleaners to help them through these hard times.

Patricia shared with us that " Pitt Meadows Otter Co-Op has signs on the door indicate a maximum of 13 customers at a time and everyone was very conscious and considerate about staying a safe distance apart. I was looking for grass seed to overseed my lawns. I found a wide variety of grass seeds to choose from; all packaged by a Fraser Valley company versus a big name brand. When I had a question about if the type I bought would be best for my needs, "Lisa" was very helpful. I also ended up buying a dog toy; as I mentioned, they carry a wide variety of products! Friendly service with an almost 'general store' look and feel.”
