As the demand for parking in Osprey Village has grown, the City of Pitt Meadows is introducing  a few small changes to the parking regulations under our parking bylaws to manage and balance the needs of all users including customers, residents, visitors and business employees. We are making more room for everyone to enjoy the many great shops, services and facilities in the area.

For residents, we have adjusted the enforceable parking hours in the Osprey Village parking lot to allow for more flexibility in overnight parking. Four hour parking limits have now been reduced to Monday to Saturday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. (previously this was 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.). This means that residents and visitors can now park for longer periods of time during evenings and anytime on Sundays.

Another change that we made was providing Osprey Village businesses with a small number of parking passes for their employees to park in the lot during business hours.

Barnston View Road, the portion highlighted in green on the below  map, remains the same with two-hour parking available Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and parking at all times during evenings and weekends. No other areas along Barnston View Road are two-hour parking.

In terms of the other parking regulations in the area, roads and road right-of-ways are City property. We have an existing bylaw that allows people to park for up 48 hours at a time. This includes Fraser Way and Bonson Road. Bylaw enforcement will occur as we receive a complaint for these areas. Active enforcement will only take place in the timed parking areas in the commercial area of Osprey Village.

New parking signage will be posted with permitted hours. Fines for parking outside of the allowable time is $50 ($40 if paid within 14 days).

Thank you for your cooperation. City staff will be monitoring this initiative and open to feedback of the new system. Provide all feedback to bylaw@pittmeadows.ca or call 604.465.2428.
