We are seeking a regular full-time Equipment Operator V to assist with the operation, minor maintenance and servicing of a variety of heavy equipment and related attachments used for the construction and maintenance of municipal facilities.


Thorough knowledge of the methods and practices used in the safe operation of heavy construction equipment will be required.  Considerable independent judgement and action will be required in effectively and safely operating a variety of equipment including excavators, grader and gradall as well as vehicles equipped with sanders and snowplows for winter maintenance.  This position may also require the operation of other equipment related to lesser classes of Equipment Operator under varying field and weather conditions.   The incumbent will perform construction and maintenance of municipal infrastructure and facilities, be capable of performing minor servicing of equipment and may oversee the work of subordinates performing related duties. Candidates must be willing to work overtime and/or participate in the standby rotation


The successful candidate will have completed 12th grade along with supplemental courses in flagging, safety and first aid plus considerable experience in all levels of equipment operation and truck driving in municipal construction and maintenance work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.  The candidate will also have a Class 3 Driver’s Licence with Air Brake Endorsement for the Province of BC.


Salary Rate: $34.16 per hour

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday (8:00am-4:30pm)
