When waste is illegally dumped in our community, it impacts Pitt Meadows residents—it costs taxpayers thousands of dollars each year to clean up. Not only is it an eyesore, but more importantly a health, safety and environmental hazard for our community, City crews, pets and wildlife. Each year, the City of Pitt Meadows spends over $30,000 in dumping fees alone.

Deliberately abandoning waste on public or private property is considered illegal dumping. Construction materials, garbage, mattresses, furniture, appliances, tires—it's all illegal.

Our vision is, Pitt Meadows Proud—and we are the Natural Place. The community is surrounded by rivers, mountains and natural spaces that are home to wildlife. Let's work together to remain proud and preserve our City's natural beauty.

Construction and Demolition Materials

Renovating? Learn how to properly dispose of construction and demolition waste, including gypsum. Once the drywall is doubled-bagged in the clear gypsum program bags, it can be dropped off at either Maple Ridge Recycling and Waste Centre or at New West Gypsum Recycling. Alternatively, pick up is available through Green Coast Rubbish.

Large Items

Large item pick up: Ridge Meadows Recycling provides a fee-for-pickup service within the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows area, including items such as: mattresses; fridges; dishwashers; freezers; stoves; furnaces; hot water tanks; barbeques; washers & dryers; TVs; computers; and other large appliances or electronics.

Mattresses and other furniture items can also be picked up and recycled through Canadian Mattress Recycling for a fee. Mattresses can also be disposed of at the Langley or Maple Ridge Recycling and Waste Centres.

Electronics and More

For a fee, the Pitt Meadows Bottle & Return-It Depot accepts drop off of various items, such as: lightbulbs; end of life electronics; paint; batteries; multi packaging and waste paper; used books; and textiles.
