Road Access Permits

Road Access Permits are required when any new access needs to be made to the local road system (e.g. putting in a new driveway, culvert etc.).  To find out more about Road Access Permits, please contact the Engineering Department 604.465.2428, Monday through Friday (8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

Speed Reduction & Traffic Calming

In Pitt Meadows, we are working to reduce speeding in the community with:

  • Education and awareness in collaboration with the RCMP and ICBC
  • Enforcement by the Ridge Meadows RCMP
  • Engineering and traffic calming devices on local roads

Traffic calming devices are intended for urban local residential roads. Arterial and collector* roads need to carry more traffic and run at higher speeds to keep traffic flowing and are generally not suitable for traffic calming.

*Traffic Calming will be considered on collectors in limited circumstances, such as roads fronting schools and parks.

Capital Works Projects

Each year the City budgets and plans for infrastructure projects within Pitt Meadows.  Infrastructure projects focus on improvements and maintenance of outdoor spaces, buildings, active transportation networks, utilities, roads and bridges. Projects include  traffic calming improvements,  pump and watermain replacements, bridge rehabilitation and replacement, repaving work and more. Check out which Capital Works Projects we'll be focusing on and where!
