Pitt Meadows Road and Rail Improvements Project 

The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority (the port authority), in collaboration with the City of Pitt Meadows and Canadian Pacific (CP), is leading the Pitt Meadows Road and Rail Improvements Project. The project will separate road and rail traffic at Harris Road. This will make local commutes faster and safer, improve community connections through more reliable traffic flow and improve emergency response times.

Transportation Master Plan

The City's Transportation Master Plan provides guidance for City investments in transportation infrastructure and programs.  

Bus, Train & Sky Train

Looking to get around town?  Transit service in Pitt Meadows includes buses and West Coast Express service, with over 50 bus stops and one West Coast Express station. 

Pedestrian & Cycling Master Plan

This plan guides the City's investments into programs and infrastructure that will encourage people to walk and cycle more for work, school, leisure, and day-to-day business.

Railways

The City works with the railways to improve safety and minimize traffic congestion around trains. Pitt Meadows is currently working with partners on various railway projects proposed within the City. Learn more.

Truck Routes

The Truck Route Map was created with the approval of TransLink and cooperation of the BC Trucking Association.  It was approved by Council in 2012 and remains in effect.

Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Area Transportation Plan - Lougheed Highway B-Line

At the March 20, 2018 Council Meeting, TransLink presented a plan for transit through Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, which includes a B-Line connecting Pitt Meadows to the rest of the region.  Learn more about Area Transportation Plan and what it means for Pitt Meadows.

The new RapidBus service launched January 6, 2020. The Lougheed RapidBus service connects  Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Port Coquitlam and Coquitlam with fast and reliable bus service that rivals the speed of SkyTrain. 

Traffic Calming Program

Neighbourhood traffic issues such as high traffic volumes, shortcuts and speeding are a growing concern for many residents.   The City of Pitt Meadows is committed to providing safe and effective traffic management plans for its neighbourhoods and has chosen a comprehensive strategy to address neighbourhood traffic management through the implementation of a Traffic Calming Policy.
