TELUS PureFibre™ Network Upgrades
TELUS is investing $15 million to connect more than 90 per cent of homes and businesses in Pitt Meadows, including Katzie First Nation’s IR #1 reserve, directly to its fibre optic network, enhancing wireline and wireless connectivity, and preparing the region for 5G technology in the years ahead.
This new fibre optic infrastructure will enable more wireless capacity and faster speeds throughout the region, and provide Pitt Meadows residents, start-ups and businesses with access to the fastest and most reliable internet technology available. This investment is part of TELUS’ commitment to invest $4.7 billion throughout British Columbia between 2017 and 2020, at no cost to taxpayers.
Construction on the PureFibre™ network is already underway. You might see more TELUS trucks in your neighbourhood than usual. Crew will be working to minimize impacts to residents and traffic. Work will be completed by the end of summer 2020.

Do you have questions about the TELUS PureFibre™ network upgrades to Pitt Meadow? TELUS has sent letters with information to all residents about the project. We want to clarify that there is no cost to connect your home to the new faster and more reliable network and you are under no obligation to sign up for the service once connected. Your old connection will continue to work as it currently does. However, if you do decide to provide permission to TELUS to connect your home, you have the opportunity to switch to the new service anytime in the future. Again, it is completely up to you.
