Together we can reduce textile waste! The City’s Green Leadership Team is collecting clean, dry, good quality clothing for a Free Community Clothing Swap at the end of July.
Drop-Off: During the month of July, drop-off your clothing donations at City Hall during business hours (8:30am to 4:30pm) at 12007 Harris Road.
Swap: Drop-in to the City clothing swap event, where you can choose up to 10 items, free of charge! Wednesday, July 31 from 3pm to 6pm at Spirit Square.
Textiles are one of the fastest growing waste streams. Metro Vancouver alone produces an estimated 40,000 metric tonnes of textile waste per year. Did you know, that over 2,600 litres of water is wasted for one cotton t-shirt?!
Any clothing items remaining will be donated to a local charity.
