Celebrate the start of the holiday season December 6 at Christmas in Pitt Meadows. The Recreation Centre will be transformed into a magical holiday village with Santa and Mrs. Claus stopping by for pictures, and goodies and entertainment for the whole family. This free event will feature Christmas train rides, a life sized snow globe, and the annual tree lighting in Spirit Square. New to the event this year is the Pop-Up Art Gallery where you can shop for last minute gifts and enjoy holiday music all by local artists. There are lots of activities planned for the evening - please see below for more information!

Don't forget to bring a non-perishable food item for the Friends in Need Food Bank - there will be a box set-up in the lobby of the Recreation Centre starting Monday Dec. 2nd for donations.

Ridge Meadows Recycling Society will have a bin inside the Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre starting Monday December 2 - please drop off all of your broken Christmas lights in the bin for recycling!

Tree Decorating Contest Details - Join Our Christmas Tree Village!

We need your help creating our Christmas Tree Village! Showcase your business or organization in the tree deocrating contest at the Christmas in Pitt Meadows event. This is an amazing way to promote your business or organization as well as get into the holiday spirit.

Your tree will proudly be shocased throughout the month of December, and will be seen by thousands of event attendees at Christmas in Pitt Meadows. 

How to participate:

  • Download your online form 

  • Setup your tree from November 25-30 during Pitt Meadows Family Rec Centre business hours
  • Voting will be open to the public on December 1 and will continue up until 6pm on Friday, December 6 during the Christmas event where the winner will be announced.

Participants will have their logo showcased in the Spring Program Guide (with a print ciruculation of 2000 copies, and average of 4000 onine views) as a thank you for taking part in this community event.

  • 6:10pm Annual lighting of the Christmas tree - both inside and outside!

Spirit Square Outdoor Activities

Life-size Snow Sculpture

Each year snow is brought in to Spirit Square to create a beautiful centrepiece, ready for you to take photos with! Make sure to look for the sculpture if you take a train ride around Spirit Square.

   

Christmas Train Rides

Take a journey through Spirit Square on the Christmas Train! Note that rides are by cash donation with all proceeds will go to the Friends in Need Foodbank.

Hot Dogs, Coffee & Hot Chocolate!

Pitt Meadows Lions will have hot dogs, coffee and hot chocolate, all by donation - please bring cash.

  • Pop-up PMAG - Get some Christmas shopping done while you're here! The Holiday Gift Exhibition is showing at the Pitt Meadows Art Gallery from November 16 - January 19.  The gallery is filled with one-of-a kind gifts from local artisans that will suit any budget and we're bringing some of these items to the Rec Centre for our first ever 'Pop-up Pmag '.  These items will be available to purchase (debit tap or credit only) all evening.
