PITT MEADOWS, B.C. – The City of Pitt Meadows is pleased to announce the launch of the Pitt Meadows Online Business Directory, in partnership with the Ridge Meadows Chamber of Commerce. This new resource and initiative is designed to support local businesses by providing a comprehensive platform that connects residents and visitors with the diverse range of services and products available in our community. The directory supports the City’s ongoing efforts to strengthen and grow the local economy and includes over 700 Pitt Meadows businesses.

“The directory is a valuable resource that will help our community and visitors discover local businesses within our City,” says Mayor Nicole MacDonald. “In these challenging times, it is more important than ever to shop local and support the exceptional businesses that Pitt Meadows has to offer. The directory is another example of how the City remains committed to building community resilience, strengthening our economy and helping our local businesses grow and succeed.”

The directory is an important tool for local businesses to increase their online visibility and reach new customers. It will be updated monthly to ensure it remains a trusted and reliable resource for the community and businesses. New businesses will be added to the directory after they obtain a business licence from the City. The City encourages all residents to explore the directory and support the businesses that make Pitt Meadows a vibrant and thriving community.

"The Chamber is incredibly proud and excited to launch the directory, in partnership with the City of Pitt Meadows," says Kristi Maier, CEO of the Ridge Meadows Chamber of Commerce. “We are honoured to have a strong partnership with the City, working together to create a user-friendly directory that not only supports local businesses but also highlights Ridge Meadows Chamber members.”

The directory is a part of a larger initiative, aimed at driving economic growth and supporting local entrepreneurs. Between 2022 and 2023, the City created the Economic Development Strategic Plan to better understand and foster local opportunities for residents and businesses.

The City has a long-standing commitment to support local, first. Through our Purchasing and Procurement Policy, established in 2009, the City ensures that local, provincial and national suppliers—in this order—are prioritized for municipal contracts. This local-first approach helps build a resilient local economy, supports job creation and fosters sustainable growth in Pitt Meadows.

“While we continue to work hard on and spread the word about local economic development initiatives and partnerships, it is important that our community knows that this commitment is not new, and has been a City priority for a long time,” says Mayor MacDonald. ”We look forward to collaborating with our community and all levels of government to advance this message and great work. We are all working hard to support our cities, our provinces, and our country.”
