PITT MEADOWS, BC –BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) paramedics will have a greater presence in Pitt Meadows after the City leased building space to BCEHS for an ambulance paramedic rest and ready location near City Hall.  The rest and ready location will allow paramedics to charge ambulances at two power stations, rest between calls, and conduct paperwork.

“The City is excited about the presence of highly-trained ambulance paramedics in Pitt Meadows.  This rest and ready location will mean that ambulances are closer to patients greatly improve ambulance response times and pre-hospital care in the community” says Mayor John Becker.

The City has negotiated a five-year lease agreement with BCEHS and plans to have the rest and ready location operational by November 1, 2018.   As part of the tenant improvements, four parking stalls at the northwest corner of the Annex Building will be modified to accommodate two ambulance power stations.

“The rest and ready location will be a game-changer in Pitt Meadows. The central location will mean paramedics are closer to patients experiencing medical emergencies, it will also offer improved facilities for our crews in between calls,” says BCEHS Patient Care Director, Wendy Machana.
