PITT MEADOWS, BC – The City of Pitt Meadows is announcing exciting changes to the annual Pitt Meadows Day event for 2024, including a new event location, updated parade route, and the introduction of a drone light show.

“Pitt Meadows Day is a beloved community tradition, celebrating 83 years in 2024!” says Mayor Nicole MacDonald. “We are looking forward to making this time-honoured celebration bigger, better, and more engaging than ever for attendees of all ages.”

Pitt Meadows Day, taking place on Saturday, June 1, 2024, will relocate to the Pitt Meadows Athletic Park, offering more event space and parking. As a result, the parade route will now start on Harris Road at the Civic Centre near City Hall and will end at the Pitt Meadows Athletic Park. Additionally, the City will be introducing a new drone light show at the end of the event in replacement of the typical fireworks show that has been cancelled due to firework bans in recent years.

“City Staff and the Pitt Meadows Day Advisory Committee have been working hard on the enhancements to this year’s event, aiming to deliver the best experience for our community,” says Chief Administrative Officer Mark Roberts. “We love to see our community come together every year, and now we can do so in a more accommodating venue, with the added excitement of a drone light show.”

More information about the 2024 Pitt Meadows Day event will be announced at a later date on pittmeadowsday.ca, including the detailed parade route, field activities, and event hours.
