Pitt Meadows Elects New City Council


PITT MEADOWS, BC – The civic election in Pitt Meadows took place on Saturday, October 20 and the preliminary results confirmed a new City Council. Bill Dingwall was elected as mayor, and joining Council are Mike Hayes, Nicole MacDonald, Bob Meachen, Tracy Miyashita, Gwen O’Connell, and Anena Simpson. Korleen Carreras and Katie Sullivan were elected as school trustees.


The election saw a 40.08% voter turnout, nearly a 10% increase from the 2014 election, with a total of 5575 votes cast.    


The new Council will be inaugurated in a ceremony on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Regular Council meetings will continue beginning the following week on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.


City staff are preparing orientation sessions for the new Council to get them up to speed on roles and responsibilities, and municipal processes.
