PITT MEADOWS, BC – The City of Pitt Meadows has launched its first new website since 2007, with brand new features and a fresh new look, as well as a new URL. Formerly the site could be found using the “bc.ca” web domain, but the City has upgraded to a more streamlined URL, and is now pittmeadows.ca.
“The website project was initially scheduled for 2020. After recommendations from the Citizen’s Committee on Open Government in 2015 and the Communications Services Review in 2016, Council endorsed staff recommendations to expedite the website project,” said Mayor John Becker.
“The new site is mobile-friendly, has enhanced navigation, including an easy to use search option with the goal of getting information users need within three clicks. It also includes stunning new photography submitted by local residents,” said Carolyn Baldridge, Manager of Communications and Community Engagement.
This new design was the result of extensive public and stakeholder feedback. The company contracted to work with the City to build the new site, Upanup Studios, conducted a focus group with residents and collected feedback via an online survey to inform the project, which has been underway since late last year.
“We were long overdue for a new website. The residents who have provided feedback and done some user testing for us have expressed excitement that the new site is visually pleasing, easy to navigate, and that information is clearly presented,” said Carolyn Baldridge, Manager of Communications & Community Engagement.
The new site is now online at pittmeadows.ca.
