PITT MEADOWS, BC – The City of Pitt Meadows is launching recruitment for its City Committees for 2024. City Committees play a pivotal role in helping advise City Council, provide feedback on local issues, and develop solutions for the unique needs of the community. Applications are open until February 25, 2024.
“Committees are made up of a diverse and dedicated group of residents who want to give back to their community,” says Mayor Nicole MacDonald. “We encourage individuals from all walks of life and experience levels to join one of the City’s Committees and contribute their valuable perspectives to inform Council decisions.”
The City is recruiting for seven different boards and committees to attend regular meetings and advise staff and Council on topics and issues related to their committee. The following committees are recruiting members for 2024:
- Advisory Design Panel
- Agricultural Advisory Committee
- Board of Variance
- Community Service Awards Task Force
- Economic Development Advisory Committee
- Parks, Recreation, and Culture Advisory Committee
- Pitt Meadows Day Advisory Committee
“Committees play a large part in a number of initiatives at the City, including the implementation plan for the Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan, providing feedback on economic development and agricultural initiatives in Pitt Meadows, planning the Pitt Meadows Day event, and advising on the design of building development applications in the community,” says Chief Administrative Officer Mark Roberts. “Staff and Council place a lot of value in the expertise and feedback provided by City Committees.”
