What Is a Host?
The Facility Host is a mandatory requirement that we staff in order to ensure that you have a point person on site to assist with facility operations and use of the building. The Host also works to ensure compliance with municipal bylaws and guidelines. The role is strictly for building operations and does not involve assistance with greeting guests, setup/teardown, actual event management, etc.

Your booking will begin at 8:00am on your wedding day and include setup of the tables and chairs. If you would like to reserve the Banquet Room for the night prior to your event, the cost is your rental rate x 4 hours + tax.
Your damage deposit is due at the time of booking. The balance of the charges owing are due three months (90 days) prior to your wedding. A wedding is not booked until your deposit is processed and the contract is signed as well as received by the Facility Booking Office in Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre. Upon receipt of your payment and signed contract, other requests for this date and time will be denied.
Parks and Recreation reserve the right to cancel the booking if the balance owing is not received three months (90 days) prior to your booking.
Users must apply for a Special Events Permit (Liquor License) from the Liquor Control Board (local liquor store) or online from their website as well as produce their "Serving it Right" card for all public and private group functions. A copy of your permit must be submitted to the Facility Bookings Office (Fax # 604.465.2493, firstname.lastname@example.org) at least two weeks (14 days) prior to your event. Permits must be visible on the wall of the facility during your event. Please retain this permit, as the Liquor Store may request it for product return.
Due to limited parking we encourage carpooling. Carpool participants are exempt from parking time limits and get preferred parking assignment in the designated stall (limited number of stalls). At the time of bookings, a temporary parking pass will be issued to you. It is your responsibility to make copies of how many guests you will have. We recommend that you copy these passes and mail them out with your invitations.
Damage Deposits will be refunded after the event, provided the facility is left in the appropriate original condition. The following occurances may result in loss of your Damage Deposit:
- The event was in violation of the Pitt Meadows Noise Control By-Law Bylaw #2138
- The event continued past 1:00am
- There is any damage or loss to the building, surrounding area and/or equipment
- The cleaning was not done to the level required or expected
- The event exceeded the occupancy limit
- The event was found to permit underage drinking and/or drinking without the proper licenses.
Damage Deposits will be returned via cheque 2-3 weeks after the completion of your event.
All cancellations must be three months (90 days) in advance of the event, otherwise 50% of the rental fee will be charged. Cancellations that occur less than 48 hours in advance of the event will have 100% of the rental fee charged.
Any applicable refunds will be issued via cheque 2-3 weeks after the cancellation.
