Pitt Meadows Recreation offers active play-based programs with a focus on active games, sports, and friendship in a safe and inclusive environment. Registration is seasonal, aligning with our Guide seasons. You may register online, by phone at 604.465.2470 or in person at Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre.
An active play-based program designed for grades 1-5 (your child must be in grade 1 to begin participation), focussing on active games, sports, and friendship in a safe and fun environment. Recreation staff will greet your children after school and supervise their transition from Pitt Meadows Elementary School to the recreation centre. Children from other schools are welcome to attend! Supervised walks do not apply to any other schools.
Please note that at this time, one-on-one support from recreation staff is not available, this is due to strict staff-to-child ratios within the program. We are however able to accommodate for this if you organize for your own one-to-one support worker to join your child in the program. We will need to discuss this ahead of time to ensure that we can provide the best service for your child, and allow for your support worker to complete our Kids Gym program procedure training manual prior to being present. Children who would be eligible to join the program and be accompanied by a support worker typically meet the following criteria:
• Extra support is required in school;
• Additional support or assistance is required at home for basic care;
• A physical, developmental and/or learning disability exists that affects the safety of the participant in a program;
• The participant is currently associated with a support agency
To register in the Kids Gym afterschool program visit www.pittfitandfun.ca or phone 604.465.2470.
We are offering daily registrations for all participants – these registrations must be processed by 11:00am the day of the program, and any withdrawals 72 hours prior to program commencement.
Program leaders are committed to providing the best experience possible for your child through their experience, diverse skill sets, and passion for working with children. All staff are Certified in First-Aid, CPR, and various emergency procedures.
