Liz Boulton: Full Circle

This exhibition reflects the life of Liz Boulton and the moments that have shaped her. Each piece in the exhibition carries fragments of memory, resilience, curiosity and growth.

The collection showcases Liz’s artistic range across many mediums. Watercolour allows her to capture both delicacy and strength in her illustrations. In contrast, her use of acrylic and mixed media allows for greater freedom, adding depth and expression to her depictions of wildlife creatures.

Also on display is a collection of Liz’s art dolls, meticulously created by hand. Sculpted from clay and wrapped in layers of stitched fabric, each carries a piece of her history—childhood wonder, vulnerability, perseverance and imagination.

The Pitt Meadows Art Gallery is located at the South Bonson Community Centre on the traditional territory of the q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie) First Nation. The gallery features artwork from local and regional artists and handmade wares by local artisans. All work will be available for purchase.

About the Artist

Photo of Artist - Liz Boulton

Elizabeth Boulton was born in Hamilton, Ontario, and has lived in Pitt Meadows, B.C., since she was 19.

She creates expressive watercolour works centred on wildlife and their quiet, emotional presence within the natural world.

Working fluidly between watercolour, acrylic and mixed media, Boulton builds layered surfaces using texture mediums, gels, glosses, inks, stencils and repurposed papers—including pages from books—creating pieces that balance softness with structure. Her work often explores themes of vulnerability, protection, memory and resilience.

Her work has been exhibited with the Garibaldi Art Club as well as in local cafes, restaurants and gift galleries. In addition to her studio practice, Boulton has spent more than a decade teaching art through Michaels, private venues, gift galleries and yoga studios, encouraging creative confidence and personal expression in others.

Her paintings invite viewers into intimate moments—tender, instinctive and quietly powerful—where animals become mirrors of human emotion.
