Why do we need public participation?

Good decision-making is critical to the future of our community.  Inviting the public to participate and provide feedback on issues in Pitt Meadows allows for a variety of perspectives that can help us create creative solutions.  Working together, we can build stronger relationships between the City and citizens to ensure Pitt Meadows is headed in the right direction and retains the characteristics we love about the community.

Civic Engagement Policy and Framework

Civic Engagement Policy and Framework Development

In 2017, the City worked with Modus Consulting on developing a Civic Engagement Policy and Framework. The resulting document helps Council and the City to draw on best practices to guide citizen engagement and allow for better informed decision making and partnership with the public on issues in the community. These strategies and tools will assist the City to meet the public’s needs and preferences for participation.

The City would like to thank Pitt Meadows residents, businesses, community groups, and committees who participated in the development of the Civic Engagement Framework. This input was essential to coming up with a plan for public engagement in Pitt Meadows.
