September 30 is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, which honours the lost children and Survivors of residential schools, their families and communities. The City is recognizing the day with the following:
- Flags will be lowered to half-mast
- City Hall will be lit up in orange lights
- A Place of Reflection is located beside the q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie) First Nation flag at šxʷhék̓ʷnəs (Spirit Square) where we encourage the community to visit and contemplate
- Digital highway sign
- Banners on the side of Pitt Meadows Art Gallery
