PITT MEADOWS, BC – The annual Pitt Meadows Day celebration is recognizing its eightieth year of festivities on June 5, 2021. The City of Pitt Meadows has a full line-up of fun activities planned, which will be hosted virtually this year due to COVID-19 safety concerns and restrictions on gatherings.
“This year’s celebration will kick off summer by showcasing talented student and residents, as well as the many aspects of our community that make us Pitt Meadows Proud™,” says Mayor Bill Dingwall. “Safety remains our top priority and therefore, to avoid gatherings, our traditional events such as having our parade is not possible this year. We are fortunate that residents have been highly engaged in the City’s virtual events over the past year. We hope to be able to celebrate in person with our community as soon as it is appropriate, potentially in the fall.”
This year’s virtual line-up and at-home activities include:
- Virtual Artisan Market – The market is a staple of the annual Pitt Meadows Day event with local artisans selling their handmade goods. This year, visit the Virtual Artisan Market! To participate as an artisan, please email events@pittmeadows.ca.
- Local Non-profit Community Groups – The City will be hosting virtual 'booths' for local non-profit community groups that would like to educate the community on their organization and initiatives. Please email events@pittmeadows.ca to apply.
- Craft Kits – Families will have a choice of three fun Pitt Meadows inspired craft kits! Kits are free for Pitt Meadows residents and $5 for non-residents.
- Pitt Meadows Word Search – Take part in the word search featuring street names, schools, buildings and more inspired by the community.

“We are excited to support local artisans, the school district and local non-profits in this year’s virtual family-friendly event,” says Chief Administrative Officer, Mark Roberts. “The City recognizes the importance of these events to our residents and continues to find innovative ways to create engaging experiences and incorporate local partners.”
