September 2026 - Construction is ongoing at the Pitt Meadows Athletic Park. Most of the underground drainage works have been completed, and the MUSCO lighting has been installed. Field fencing and baseball backstop fencing installations are currently in progress. The sports box foundation works are complete and ready for the pre-engineered metal building to arrive on site. Installation of the new artificial turf field is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
May 2026 - The contractor team has commenced site preparations for the expansion project, including initial site setup, mobilization and preparation of the work areas in advance of the upcoming construction activities.
April 2026 - The City of Pitt Meadows will soon break ground on the Pitt Meadows Athletic Park expansion after the construction contract was awarded to Cedar Crest Lands (BC) Ltd. at the Council Meeting on March 31, 2026. Read the media release.
January 2025 - The Pitt Meadows Athletic Park (PMAP) expansion project continues to progress and remains in the detailed design phase. This exciting development aims to transform the site’s eight acres of amenity lands into a centralized "sports hub" that integrates seamlessly with the existing park.
December 2024 - Staff presented to Council an update on the project as well as obtained Council’s feedback on the exterior aesthetic options of the covered sports box, informing the next phase of design.
December 2023 - The comprehensive expansion design process received approval, marking an exciting phase to integrate enhanced sports and support facilities within the site's 8 acres of amenity lands, seamlessly merging with the existing park. The proposed concept designs encompass a large artificial turf field with improved lighting and additional seating for spectators, accompanied by a covered multi-sport arena. Additionally, this expansion plan embraces increased parking provisions to cater to the growing needs of the community.
