While living in Sechelt for many years, I took many photos of the Gibson’s Landing, which was made famous from the t.v. show, The Beachcombers. My work was being shown at a co-op gallery, which was 1/2 block from Molly’s Reach Restaurant. Gibsons is still a very quaint little waterfront town with friendly people and a more relaxed lifestyle than the city of Vancouver and outlying areas. Going into one of Gibson’s local eateries which serves local fresh seafood, crab and oysters is a must! |
Doris Biddle grew up in Denmark and at age of 13, came to Canada
with her family. At 18 she became a hairstylist, which gave her the
creative outlet she needed. She had a successful hair salon, competed
extensively and won many styling awards. After retiring she started to
paint. She embraced it with the same passion and dedication that she
had applied to her successful hairstyling career.
Doris has become known for her local scenes with a nautical chart in
the background as well as her bright bold poppies and portraits. She
sells her work at the Coastal Art Gallery in Gibsons, B.C. and from
her home gallery, group shows as well as from her web site -
