
Jackie was born in the city of Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, the youngest
of 11 children, and grew up in Vancouver, BC. She enjoys painting a variety
of subjects, including cityscapes of local places and cities that she has
visited, and landscapes that include an interesting solid structure such
as boats and bridges.
She began painting in 2010 after she retired from her position as Administrative
Assistant at Maple Ridge Christian School where she had been working
for more than 20 years. She lives in Maple Ridge with her husband and
they have two married children and six grandchildren. Besides spending
time with her family, friends, and painting, she also creates jewellery and
enjoys bicycling and kayaking.
Jackie is an Active Member of the Canadian Federation of Artists, as well
as a member of the Garibaldi Art Club in Maple Ridge.
Her paintings have been shown at the Federation of Canadian Artists
Juried Shows (including the gallery at Granville Island), the Garibaldi Art
Club Juried Spring Shows, the Garibaldi Art Club Fall Show & Sales, local
MLA offices, the Passagio at the ACT, Swan-E-Set Golf and Country Club,
the Maple Ridge Public Library, and local businesses. She has been
awarded several Honourable Mentions and a Second Place in juried shows.
