During the last few challenging years I have found that hiking has been the perfect distraction for me. This particular trail is just moments from my home - tie up my hiking boots, grab a bottle of water, and I am off! I am in another world - quiet, peaceful, mossy trails, boulders for climbing, sounds of wildlife, and towering trees. |
Kathy Nay is a watercolour and acrylic artist. Her love of painting was
passed onto her from her mother who used oils as her preferred medium.
Kathy grew up in Maple Ridge where she was surrounded by her mother's
art work which inspired Kathy to follow her own artistic endeavours.
Taking instruction from Cheryl Fortier and other artists, Kathy studied
and learned various water-colour techniques. Through these classes,
she developed a passion for water-colour, a medium that is difficult to
master. By using a limited palette, Kathy intensifies the mood and
subject in her work and draws the viewer into her pictures.
Kathy Is interested in capturing the essence of the moment in her
paintings and lately has been taking inspiration from her hiking
adventures. She is a realistic artist who chooses subjects that "grab" her
attention; currently focusing on scenes that connect to water.
