This painting depicts what a beautiful colourful sunny summer day this was. I was on a bike ride with my grandchildren, when I was captivated by the colours and linear look of everything.  It is a scene in Pitt Meadows along the mighty Fraser.

This is an acrylic painting, which is a medium I do not usually paint in, but loved how this turned out.

Originally from England, Lyn worked in watercolour until a pastel class

sent her in a new direction.  From the dreamy, soft shades of watercolours,

she is now excited about using the vibrant colours more associated with

pastel.  Her pastel paintings have won awards in Juried exhibitions.

Cityscapes and landscapes are frequent subject matter, with Lyn seeking

reference photos that have good light and strong shadows.

Lyn has been a very active member of the Arts community since moving

to Maple Ridge 35 years ago.  She is a member of the Garibaldi Art Club,

the Fraser Valley Chapter of the Federation, the Federation of Canadian

Artists and a member of the Pastel Artists of Canada.

Recently Lyn has turned her focus away from the demands of her

home-based picture framing business.  She has made space for a small

gallery in her home, in a quiet intimate setting, and now plans to work

towards her artistic goals.
