| In the words of the Beatles’ song ‘Yellow Submarine’: We all live in a yellow submarine. We all live a life of ease. Every one of us has all we need. Sky of blue and sea of green, In our yellow submarine. It’s not true of course, it’s not real, But what harm can be done by looking ahead With hope and longing for a better world. |
Suzette has been painting for over 20 years. While her
early work consisted of traditional renderings of florals and
landscapes, over time, her work evolved into a more
painterly style, and eventually, abstraction became her
preference. Today, she paints mostly bright, colourful
abstract and semi-abstract works. She works mostly with
acrylic paints, supplemented with collage or mixed media
work. She utilizes a variety of techniques like adding
texture, splattering and a variety of mark-making to add
interest and contrast. Her work has been accepted into
numerous juried exhibitions and she has won several
awards.
