Group Fitness Instructors – Level 1
The City of Pitt Meadows Recreation Department is currently transitioning the group fitness portfolio from contracted services to an in-house staff model as of January 2019. The Recreation Department has multiple openings and is looking for passionate and enthusiastic individuals to lead fitness classes.
Reporting to the Recreation Program Services Coordinator, these positions are responsible for leading exercise programs for youth, adults and seniors, focusing on functional exercises, balance, agility, cardiovascular fitness, strength and flexibility. Group Fitness Instructors will provide direct instruction, leadership and program management for a specific activity/interest.
The successful applicants must hold a current Group Fitness BCRPA certificate or related equivalent with one of more fitness-related modules, i.e. Older Adult, Osteofit, Indoor Cycling, 3 Age Certification, Boot camp & Circuit classes, TRX/Suspension training, Adapted Fitness Instructor and have experience planning and leading group fitness and/or cycle classes. Other required qualifications include:
- Current Group Fitness Instructor Certification – BCRPA or related equivalent
- Valid and ongoing continuing education credits in BCRPA
- Current First aid and CPR

A Level 1 Fitness Instructor will teach programs such as; Low Impact Aerobics (50+), 20/20/20, Cardio Fit, Spin/Cycle, Cycle Core, Total Body Sculpt, Core & Stretch, Weekend Warrior, Boot Camp, Step and/or Bosu Classes, Body Toning, TRX and small group circuit classes.
Salary Rate: $33.00 per hour
