PITT MEADOWS, BC - On May 28, 2018, the Maple Ridge & Pitt Meadows Municipal Advisory Committee on Accessibility and Inclusiveness (MACAI) will be recognizing leaders who are ‘difference makers’ within our community supporting individuals with varying abilities inclusive of physical, emotional, cultural and financial circumstances.
MACAI is seeking nominations from the public in the following categories;
1) Universal/Architectural Access (Residential/Commercial)
2) Leisure & Recreation
3) Customer Service
4) Volunteer
5) Employment
6) Educator
7) Financial
Nomination forms are available at Maple Ridge City Hall, Maple Ridge Library, Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre, Pitt Meadows City Hall and Pitt Meadows Library or online at mapleridge.ca/130. Completed applications can be dropped off at any of the above listed locations or faxed to 604-465-2493 or emailed to rslevin@pittmeadows.bc.ca on or before May 7, 2018. Please nominate your ‘difference makers’ and join us in celebrating these individuals’ contributions to their communities.
This year’s 15th annual awards event will be hosted on May 28, 2018 at 6:30 pm at the Pitt Meadows Seniors Centre and is open to all members of the public.
MACAI is a joint committee that advises Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows Councils on civic matters affecting people with varying abilities. MACAI strives to remove the social, physical, psychological, cultural and financial barriers that prevent people from fully participating in all aspects of community life.
Throughout the past 15 years, MACAI has recognized over 100 businesses, organizations and citizens for their outstanding commitment and willingness to ensure that all citizens can access local services.
