October 10, 2019 - There has been a report of a black bear sighted at Harris Road Park (12474 Lougheed Hwy, Pitt Meadows, BC V3Y 2J4).
Bear safety tips:
- Travel in groups of two or more and keep talking. Bears recognize the human voice and will avoid you in most instances.
- If you encounter a bear, do not yell, scream, or run as this may trigger an attack. If the bear sees you, speak in a low loud voice to let the bear know that you are a human and move away slowly.
- Carry bear spray with you and keep it ready if needed.
- Keep dogs on a leash and children close by.
