Hidden gem in our midst. A quiet place to visit. A place to contemplate. Stripped down to just earth sounds, Hear your mind tick, your heart pound. Maybe for the first time, things become clear. |
Gina Rubin is a landscape artist inspired by those quiet contemplative
moments we experience when we observe something serene and
beautiful in our surroundings. Though she primarily paints landscapes,
she at times includes the figure, either partaking in or bearing witness
to these moments. In this hectic and busy life, she often turns to nature
to seek comfort and solace. Her intention is to create art that invokes
that sense of peace and calm in the viewer.
Illuminated by the exposure to her mother’s love and exploration of art
since birth, and to a father who studied architecture, building and
photography, Rubin inherited an early interest in art. She continues a
tradition of a long line of painters in her family, extending back as far as
her great-grandmother, grandmother on down to her mother, and sister.
Rubin is a founding member of the Stave Falls Artist Group and a
member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, attaining Signature
Status at the Associate level in July 2020.
