| All animals delight and inspire me, but the African animals, some of which are critically endangered, pull at my heartstrings. Although I have never been to Africa, my many trips to zoos and sanctuaries have afforded me great photo ops. This mother mountain gorilla and her tiny offspring were at the Toronto Zoo. |
Joyce was born in Nova Scotia, and now resides in Fort Langley.
She drew as a child, and as a young mother enrolled in every art class
available at Douglas College, including painting, drawing, print making,
sculpture and Art History. Drawing children and animal portraits kept her busy.
She began exhibiting her work in the 90s and by 2002 was in Brenda
Albert’s Birthplace of BC gallery. The Kube gallery now exhibits her work.
As well as being a member of FCA, Joyce is a Director of the West Fine Art
Show Society and a Signature Member of Artists for Conservation.
