PITT MEADOWS, B.C. – Fire crews are actively responding to an interface fire in the 200 block of Richardson Road, where forested land borders residential properties. Two homes in the immediate area have been evacuated as a precaution, and there are currently no reports of injuries to people or animals.
“We’re grateful for the swift and coordinated response of our fire crews and partner agencies,” said Mayor Nicole MacDonald. “Public safety is our top priority, and we’re asking everyone to please avoid the area to allow emergency teams to do their work safely and effectively.”
Pitt Meadows Fire & Rescue Service is leading the response with Maple Ridge Fire & Rescue on scene since the beginning, with support from the BC Wildfire Service. Crews remain on scene and are working to contain the fire and prevent further spread.
Cause of fire is unknown at this time.
