Fire declared under control: Interface Fire in Pitt Meadows in 200 block of Richardson Road

Friday, August 1, 2025 (3:30 p.m.) – The fire at the 200 block of Richardson Road has been officially declared under control, with all known hotspots fully extinguished. All crews from Pitt Meadows Fire & Rescue Service (PMFRS), Maple Ridge Fire Department (MRFD) and BC Wildfire Service have been demobilized. Fire crews will continue to monitor the scene. 

The investigation to determine the cause of the fire will be ongoing. 

The City and Council express appreciation and gratitude to all the resources involved.

Friday, August 1, 2025 (8:15 a.m.) – Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge fire crews monitored the fire at the 200 block of Richardson Road overnight (Thursday evening to Friday morning). 

  • Crews are on scene this morning to continue containment efforts. 
  • Smoke is still visible.
  • Firefighters from Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge will remain on scene, with BC Wildfire Service expected to arrive to assess the situation. 
  • No structures are currently at risk. 
  • Cause of the fire is still unknown.

Thursday, July 31, 2025 Fire crews are actively responding to an interface fire in the 200 block of Richardson Road, where forested land borders residential properties. Two homes in the immediate area have been evacuated as a precaution, and there are currently no reports of injuries to people or animals.

Pitt Meadows Fire & Rescue Service is leading the response with Maple Ridge Fire & Rescue on scene since the beginning, with support from the BC Wildfire Service. Crews remain on scene and are working to contain the fire and prevent further spread.

Cause of fire is unknown at this time.
