Grabenhorst Garden: Celebrating Art, History and Growth

The Pitt Meadows Art Gallery (PMAG), located on the main floor of the South Bonson Community Centre will open on Saturday, September 6, 2025 with the next exhibition titled Grabenhorst Garden: Celebrating Art, History and Growth.

In 1979, Rose and her husband Rolf bought a quiet stretch of land in Pitt Meadows—first for horses, then as a Christmas tree farm. Inspired by a dream of creating a woodland garden, Rose planted more than 700 rhododendrons, trees, shrubs and perennials, gradually shaping a place of beauty and peace.

In 2022, the City of Pitt Meadows, along with Rose’s daughters, began honouring her vision of sharing the garden with the community. To mark its new chapter as a public space, the Gallery invited artists to capture its unique beauty through their work. This mixed-media exhibition invites you to see through their eyes. A tribute to Rose’s legacy and a celebration of art, history and growth.

The Pitt Meadows Art Gallery is located at the South Bonson Community Centre on the traditional territory of the q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie) First Nation. The gallery features artwork from local and regional artists and handmade wares by local artisans. All work will be available for sale.
