This house is associated with Alvo von Alvensleben, who owned substantial amounts of property in Pitt Meadows before World War I. He moved from Germany to Vancouver in 1904 and became in involved in numerous promotional business deals and was very successful for a few years. He returned to Germany after the economic crash of 1913, but was refused re-entry after the outbreak of war in 1914. He moved to Seattle and lived there until his death in 1963. Built in around 1912, this house was never occupied by von Alvensleben; likely it was constructed as a caretakers residence.
