Fire Ban In Effect - Agricultural Burning Season Postponed

Updated September 1, 2026 - Effective at 12:00 p.m. (noon) PT on Thursday, July 16, 2026, Category 1, 2 and 3 open fires are prohibited throughout the Coastal Fire Centre’s jurisdiction, with some exceptions. This prohibition is being enacted to help reduce human-caused wildfires and for public safety. This prohibition will be in place until October 31, 2026, or until the order is rescinded. The fall agricultural burning season (September 1 - November 30) will be delayed due to the fire ban.

As a reminder to residents, open wood burning and campfires are not permitted at anytime, anywhere in urban areas in Pitt Meadows (per Bylaw No.2688). This includes outdoor fireplaces and cooking pits. Propane and natural gas are permitted. Burning permits will not be available at this time.
