Update (April 6, 2024 - 7:10pm): The Emergency Support Services Reception Centre at the Pitt Meadows Recreation Centre will be open until 9:00pm tonight and from 10:00am-4:00pm tomorrow (April 7, 2024).
April 6, 2024 - Local fire update: At approximately 3:30am, a fire broke out at 19041 Ford Road, a 55 unit multi-residential building. Fire crews were on site with fast action, and fire damages were limited to two units. All residents were evacuated and Emergency Support Services (ESS) has been deployed along with City of Pitt Meadows employees to assist them. In addition to the City’s Fire Services members, mutual aid was requested from the City of Maple Ridge Fire Department. Three residents were injured and have been transported to local hospital. The Fire Cause investigation is ongoing.
An ESS Reception Centre is set up at the Pitt Meadows Recreation Centre at 12027 Harris Road, Pitt Meadows. If you or someone you know is a resident that has been impacted by the fire, please go to the ESS Reception Centre for support.
