December 4, 2023 - The BC River Forecast Centre has issued a Flood Watch for the Lower Mainland including Metro Vancouver.
A Flood Watch means that river levels are rising and will approach or may exceed bankfull. Flooding of areas adjacent to affected rivers may occur.
There are currently no immediate concerns in Pitt Meadows. City crews are continuing to perform regular checks and maintenance on the City’s dikes and drainage infrastructure. Please use caution near rivers, especially with children and pets, as the rising water levels could have strong current and could destabilize riverbanks.
Updates will be communicated to the public on social media channels and at pittmeadows.ca/alerts.
Detailed information on the City’s flood mitigation plans is available at pittmeadows.ca/floodpreparation.
