Heavy Rain and Snow Melt Brings Localized Flooding to Pitt Meadows

Archived

January 12 – Heavy rain and snow melt are contributing to increased surface run off and high water levels in the ditches. With the additional surface runoff, Pitt Meadows may experience pooling water and localized flooding. The drainage pumps are operating at capacity.

Currently, river levels are low which helps to aid in the drainage of excess water. City crews continue to perform checks and maintenance on dikes and other infrastructure. Please help City crews by clearing your catch basins of debris, snow and ice to facilitate proper drainage.  All streets are open at this time. Please use caution when driving.

Heavy rain is expected to continue throughout today but is expected to taper off by Thursday. Learn more at pittmeadows.ca/floodpreparation
