January 10, 2025 - Due to tree work along Mitchell Park Trail, a section of the trail will be temporarily closed until 2:00 p.m. on January 10 for the safety of residents and users.
Project Background
Following recent windstorm damage, tree work is underway along Mitchell Trail to address high-risk safety concerns. After a site assessment, five high-risk trees impacting neighboring homes have been safely removed. Groundwork is now underway to tidy the area and enrich the forest by chipping most of the debris back into the forest, bringing valuable nutrients back into the environment. The City will continue to monitor the area, considering evolving ground conditions and the impact of climate change.
