Pitt River Quarry - Truck Traffic Increase

November 19, 2021 - Residents should expect an increase in truck volume along certain corridors of  the city's Truck Route for the forseeable future, specifically adjacent to the Pitt River Quarry along Neaves Road and Old Dewdney Trunk Road. This increase is related to the recent flooding events in the Lower Mainland and subsequent closure of quarries affected by the flooding. Currently, Pitt River Quarry is one of the only local suppliers of road building material.

At this time, the City is now permitting hauling on weekends. Lafarge, who operates the quarry, will take measures to avoid truck staging on Neaves Road and will activate traffic control procedures as required. The daily street sweeping schedule will be increased along these routes.

Thank you for your patience, please obey all traffic control signs and personnel at all times.
