q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie) First Nation Wharf Replacement Project

Beginning January 7, 2025, work will take place on the q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie) First Nation Wharf Replacement Project (please note: this work/project is led by q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie) First Nation and is not a City of Pitt Meadows project). Please see contact details below, if you have questions.

Timing: January 7 - March 31, 2025. Typical hours of work will be Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Work Includes:

  • Demolition of existing wharf at the intersection of Bonson Road and River Road, and removal of piles.
  • Installation of a new Wharf at the intersection of River Road and Katzie Rd; and new floating docks, breakwater piles in the Katzie Marina.

Impacts:

  • Temporary traffic reductions and road closures will occur along River Road in Katzie First Nation.
  • Truck activity including hauling/delivery of equipment will be minimal to and from the project site along Bonson Rd.
  • Road users are advised to use caution and follow direction from traffic control personnel when travelling in the project area. 
  • Temporary increases in noise during various times during construction. This includes the use of a vibratory hammer and alternative equipment if needed.
  • Noise monitoring to be utilized including vibration sensors at various locations surrounding the work area.
