Join the Ridge Meadows Chamber of Commerce for the Pitt Meadows Municipal Election Candidates Forum on October 5, 2026. This in-person event is a great opportunity for residents to hear directly from the mayoral and council candidates, learn about their priorities, and get informed before Election Day. Pre-submitted questions can be submitted to lauren@ridgemeadowschamber.com, with the forum being moderated by the Ridge Meadows Chamber of Commerce. No live questions will be accepted.

Fire Prevention Week is October 4-10, 2026! To kick-off the week, Pitt Meadows Fire and Rescue Service is inviting everyone to its annual Open House on Sunday, October 4 at the Pitt Meadows Fire Hall (19240 122A Avenue) from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Meet our local firefighters, see the trucks and enjoy informative displays from our community partners, fun activities, refreshments and more.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation | Orange Shirt Day

Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process. We also recognize the journey of Truth and Reconciliation we are currently on at the City.

Join us on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Memorial Peace Park in Maple Ridge from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM for a powerful day of reflection, learning, and community connection.
 
This event is a collaborative effort by many local organizations committed to honouring the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and sharing its vital message with Maple Ridge and surrounding communities.
 

Purolator Red Bag Campaign

Purolator will once again lead its annual Red Bag Campaign in Pitt Meadows, continuing a longstanding partnership with Friends In Need Food Bank.

The campaign will take place over two Saturdays:

September 19 – Red Bag Distribution

Purolator volunteers will distribute Red Bags throughout participating Pitt Meadows neighbourhoods, with additional community volunteer support being coordinated.

September 26 – Red Bag Collection

Pitt Meadows RCMP Open House

Join us for our first-ever Pitt Meadows RCMP Open House!

Come explore our brand-new Detachment, meet the officers serving Pitt Meadows and q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie) First Nation, and check out displays from specialized police units, including the Integrated Emergency Response Team, Integrated Police Dog Services, CFSEU-BC and more.

There will also be cell tours, community safety partners, emergency vehicles, family-friendly activities and free hot dogs!

Meet the Author: Alicia Duncan — Book Signing at Tomes and Tales

Alicia Duncan, author of The Other Side of the Straitjacket, will be having a book signing on Saturday, Aug. 29, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Tomes and Tales Bookstore. Duncan is a mental health advocate whose work explores the intersection of healthcare, ethics and human rights in end-of-life policy.
