The City of Pitt Meadows appreciates the community`s passion and advocacy towards wanting a skate park at Meadowtown. To clarify, yesterday, staff met with community members to explain that the City is engaging in a comprehensive Parks and Recreation Master Plan process that will determine the City’s direction in relation to parks, amenities and services for the next 10 - 15 years. Throughout this process, data from the Official Community Plan that articulates future growth and demographics are considered along with community/user feedback and financial availability.
The City anticipates that engagement sessions for the Parks and Recreation Master Plan will begin later this spring. All residents, community groups and sports clubs are encouraged to provide feedback so that the City can meet the active health and wellness needs of all of our community regardless of age or ability.
