Wednesday, November 12, 2025 – Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning in effect for Metro Vancouver – northeast including Pitt Meadows. Rain, at times heavy, is expected.
When: Beginning Wednesday, November 12 and continuing through Thursday night.
What: 40 to 60 mm of rain is expected.
Details and reminders:
- A slow-moving Pacific frontal system will move across the BC South Coast. Rain will begin near midday (Wednesday) and gradually intensify through the afternoon and evening. Heavy rain will continue overnight and through Thursday before easing Thursday night.
- Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas. Landslides may occur in vulnerable areas such as steep slopes, deforested areas, or recent burn scars.
- Allow extra time for travel.
- Help clear storm drains of leaves and debris to prevent flooding and allow proper drainage.
- City crews have been preparing for storm season by lowering ditch levels, checking pump stations and ensuring systems are ready for heavy rain.
