February 27, 2025 - Burning of vegetative matter is allowed on agriculturally zoned properties only with a City permit and approval from Metro Vancouver during the spring burning season (March 1 to May 31).

- Step 1: Apply for a City burning permit
- Step 2: Register for open burning approval through Metro Vancouver
- Step 3: Before your burn, call the Metro Vancouver ventilation index line at 604.436.6777 after 8:30 a.m. to listen to the Metro Vancouver open burning advisory on the day you wish to burn. Burning is only allowed when atmospheric conditions are favourable.
Residents are reminded that open wood burning is not permitted at anytime, anywhere in urban areas in Pitt Meadows (per Bylaw No.2688). This includes outdoor fireplaces and cooking pits. Propane and natural gas are permitted.
